International Premiere for The Golden West at Telluride
Tom Berkley and Ross White’s The Golden West will have its international premiere at this year’s Telluride Film Festival. Starring Aoife Duffin and Eileen Walsh the film was executive produced by EZ Films and is embarking on an exciting festival run in the wake of its Irish premiere at Galway Film Fleadh in July. It is the writing and directing duo’s first film since the phenomenal success of their previous short An Irish Goodbye which won best short drama at the 2023 Academy Awards.
The Golden West is set in 1849, and follows two feuding Irish sisters who have fled the Great Famine to search for gold in the mountains of North Wales. With winter approaching and nothing to show for their efforts, their age-old feud threatens to become deadly.
The film will continue its festival run with a European premiere at the Warsaw International Film Festival next on the cards.
